A 5 days (4 nights) itinerary in search of the magical Aurora Borealis and the incredible arctic landscapes of the city of Tromsø and the island of Kvaløya.
Tromsø is considered one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights, and not by chance. Its geographic position, right below the Aurora Oval, means that auroras can appear even when solar activity is moderate — giving you far more chances than in most other Arctic locations.
But it’s not just about latitude: Tromsø offers excellent infrastructure, reliable transport, and we know exactly where to go based on real-time weather and microclimate conditions. The surrounding fjords and islands create multiple “escape routes” from clouds, allowing us to drive you into clear skies even when the weather seems uncertain.
If your main goal is to witness the aurora, Tromsø is where your odds are highest — a place where nature, geography, and local expertise come together to give you the best possible chance of seeing the sky come alive.
DAYLIGHT EXPLORATIONS
Each day begins with gentle daytime adventures into the Arctic wilderness. Depending on the season and weather, you might:
AURORA NIGHTS
The evening is reserved for chasing the northern lights. We know exactly where to go, whether it’s to a coastal clearing, a frozen lake or even towards the Finnish border, we’ll chase with purpose, but never rush — with warmth, storytelling, and hot drinks by the fire. With a bit of luck, you’ll witness one of nature’s most powerful displays.
