From late October to January, the fjords around Tromsø become the stage for one of nature’s most spectacular events: the arrival of herring, followed by pods of orcas and humpback whales. These intelligent and powerful animals navigate the narrow fjords to feed, communicate, and interact — and you’ll have a front-row seat.
Our journey begins in Tromsø, from where we drive toward the Skjervøy area, Kåfjord, and the Lyngen Alps. After a few hours of driving we board a charming Norwegian wooden boat and sail off in search of majestic whales.
