Senja Discover

9 - 10 hours

Welcome to Senja — Norway’s best-kept secret. This rugged, mountainous island is often called a “miniature Norway” for its incredible diversity of landscapes, from dramatic fjords and sharp peaks to windswept beaches and serene pine forests. Discovering Senja is more than just a scenic road trip — it’s a guided immersion into Arctic nature, culture, and the rhythm of the wild.

Let yourself be carried away by the peace and tranquility of the scenery unfolding before your eyes — but keep an eye out for the wildlife we may encounter: sea eagles, reindeer, moose, and otters are just a few examples.

This tour includes two ferry rides — be prepared!

The tour may also include short walks (maximum 100–200 m). Please consider the Arctic environment: there may be ice, snow, mud, or other challenging terrain. Temperatures can vary significantly, sometimes abruptly, so you are advised to dress appropriately.

This is a weather-dependent activity. The itinerary may change due to weather conditions.

Senja Discover

This is not a wildlife-focused tour; it is a sightseeing tour. During the trip, you might see animals such as reindeer, moose, sea eagles, seals, and otters. Since these are wild animals, sightings are not guaranteed, and it is possible that none of them will be seen.

Since this is a sightseeing tour, we will spend a significant amount of time in the vehicle. Transportation is necessary to move from one location to another, from one landscape to the next, allowing you to capture incredible photographs along the way.

This tour includes a delicious hot meal served on the beach. You can enjoy dishes such as reindeer stew (vilgryte), cod stew (bacalao), and tomato soup (tomatsuppe). Of course, alternative options are also available for vegans and those with dietary restrictions.

Kvaløya is a very large island where we will spend several hours. Restroom options are limited, but we plan to make at least one stop during our lunch break.

The weather in Northern Norway is highly variable. Taking a tour in bad weather is unfortunately a possibility, but our guides are highly trained and will ensure you have a unique experience!

To reach Senja, it is necessary to take a ferry. For the return journey, weather permitting, we may return by road via the mainland. In the event that the ferry is canceled due to bad weather, the tour will also be canceled, with the option of a refund or rescheduling to another date, subject to availability.
