Aurora Discover

6-8 hours

Searching for the Northern Lights is a unique and exciting experience.

As expert guides, true connoisseurs of the area and its specific microclimates, we’ll do our best to give you the experience you have long dreamed of: seeing the Northern Lights. Let us tell you about the science behind the aurora and explain how and why this extraordinary phenomenon occurs, as well as the conditions that make it appear.
And if the lights decide not to show up at that very moment, we’ll happily (and with a touch of humor) tell you exactly why the aurora is being a bit shy tonight.

As photographers, we can capture portraits and breathtaking panoramic shots of your adventure, ensuring you bring home unforgettable memories. We are also happy to share tips on composition and various techniques for photographing the aurora, helping you get the perfect shot of this magical phenomenon.

It’s a wonderful experience suitable for everyone; adults and children. A tour that can take you from the surroundings of Tromsø all the way to the Finnish border, giving you the chance to witness these magical lights!

It’s best to dress in layers, so you’re prepared for any situation. It’s important to protect the extremities with gloves, a hat, and a good pair of socks. Wool clothing tends to work better than technical clothing. When it comes to shoes, it’s preferable to choose warm shoes rather than trekking boots or similar.

This activity involves spending extended periods outdoors, with temperatures that can drop as low as -20/-25°C, which may be challenging for children. The recommended minimum age is ten, but younger children can be considered after careful discussion between parents and the guide.

Yes, it’s possible to return earlier or later than the scheduled time. We’ll do our best to stick to the plan, but it all depends on the aurora: if activity is high, we may stay out longer to increase the chances of seeing it; if activity is low, we may return earlier. It’s also possible to head back sooner if the aurora has already been seen and everyone feels satisfied and agrees to return.

No, refunds are not provided if the aurora isn’t seen. While we do our best to maximize the chances of spotting it, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

It depends on what is meant by “bad weather.” In case of cloudy skies or unfavorable conditions, we’ll do our best to find clear skies, even traveling hundreds of kilometers from the city. However, if the weather becomes dangerous for the activity, the tour will be canceled.
